Relation Pane

Relation Pane

Relation Pane is the panel where the relevant relationship tabs of objects are displayed, located in each widget and opened from the bottom edge of the widget.

Features

In widgets where multiple objects are managed (Table, Structure, Search, Viewer, Workflow, Navigator, Timeline, Comparison, Charts and Kanban), the relation pane is reloaded with each object selection. If more than one object is selected, relation pane will show the last selection’s relations.

Relationship Tabs: Relationships created specifically for each object type are presented in the form of tabs. Objects that have relationship with the object are listed in tabular form under the relevant heading in these tabs.

Editing in Tabs: To edit the objects, go to edit mode with the edit button on the command bar of the relation pane and updates can be made on the object with which there is a relationship. Such as, thumbnails can be changed through relation pane.

Displaying Relations in All Directions: For relationships organized as child-parent, the parent of the open object in the relationship pane is shown as "from" and if there is a child object connected to it, it is shown as "to".

Every relationship type that is not child-parent (double-sided) is shown as “to”.

Customized Table Views: Each tab has table views that are customized specifically for the object type.

Command Menu: All commands that can be used in table type widgets can also be used here. Relationship attributes are managed with the command bar in the Relationship Pane.

Deletion and Creation of the Relations

The relation pane supports the creation and deletion of relationships between the main object whose relation pane is open and the object(s) desired to be managed in the relationships panel.

There are two ways of deleting the relations:

  1. Selecting the object then disconnecting it by clicking on “Disconnect” command from command bar or by right click.

  2. Selecting the object then cut it by clicking on “Cut” command from command bar or by right click.

There are some ways of creating the relations:

  1. The object to be related to is dragged and dropped to the relevant tab of the object whose Relations Pane is open. Then dropped object will have a “to” relation with the main object.

  2. Pasting the object(s) which is cut or copied.

Note: If the object types are not supported for the relationship type those are being tried to create, there will be no creation between objects.

Cut and Copy

After selecting the relation (object) and executing the cut or copy command, the object will be displayed in the clipboard’s cut or copied objects section until it is pasted to somewhere else.

Paste: After selecting the parent, and executing the paste command the relationship type will be asked to create the new relation.

For the object(s) which is (are) “cut”: After pasting it, the object will be removed when the relation(s) is (are) created and old relation will be deleted.
